Relief Kits

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) collects hygiene, school, and cleaning kits for distribution within the United States. Relief kits help provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies when a disaster strikes.

For instructions on how to assemble each of the kits, visit the UMCOR website by clicking here.

We will not be collecting relief kits at annual conference in 2020. You can take completed cleaning kits to Blue Lake Camp in Andalusia, AL. Ship any kit to the Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana (click here), or the Disaster Warehouse in Decatur, AL (click here). Or contact your District Disaster Response Coordinator (click here to see the list) to ask if there is a district collection point.

Thank you to all the many churches that participated in our 2019 UMCOR Relief Kit drive at Annual Conference.  These supplies and kits will be used throughout the United States to provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis.
Thank you to Coleman American/COVAN for providing the truck and then shipping the kits for us to the Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana. Consider using this company for your moving needs because of the great support they offer our annual conference and UMCOR.

Sending Relief Supply Kits:

UMCOR Supply Kits help to care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. They also help to sustain everyday life by providing basic necessities to people who lack ready access to essential supplies. By donating kit supplies or financial gifts to purchase the supplies, you make a direct, tangible difference in sustaining people's lives.

International distribution of relief supplies has been discontinued as of December 31, 2017. Relief grants will be offered to international partners to allow for local purchase and assembly of kits which are more culturally appropriate. US distribution of kits will continue with Cleaning Buckets, Health Kits, and School kits. Click here to read more about UMCOR's kit changes.

Note: Patriotic symbols, such as flags, do not need to be removed from relief kits. In the past, UMCOR requested that these were removed to ensure relief kits could move easily through international customs. This is not an issue for new relief kits.

Click here to visit the UMCOR website for more information.

Alternatively, you can donate online toward the purchase of supplies instead of buying and shipping them. Click here to donate.

You can also donate to disaster response efforts. Click here to donate.

You can send relief supply kits to either depot—UMCOR coordinates supply shipments from both locations.
