Upcoming “Reboot Recovery” Trainings:
Rev. Ashley Davis and Celeste Eubanks will be leading Reboot Recovery trainings starting Thursday, April 8, 2021. The complete training will take place over three, two-hour sessions. Over the past year, Rev. Davis and Celeste have led these trainings with clergy, Lay Leaders, and Board of Laity members in our Conference. Due to requests to offer Reboot Recovery to a larger demographic of people throughout the Conference, these trainings will be open to any AWF clergy and laity who wishes to enroll. Registration is required (see links below). Please note that to complete the full training, you must attend all three training dates. CEUs will be awarded. Reboot Recovery was founded in 2011 by Dr. Jenny and Evan Owens in response to a lack of faith-based solutions to help people overcome trauma. While this was initially created for law enforcement and military personnel who had experienced trauma while serving, they have adapted the material to be used for those living in/facing a crisis. The goal of the course is to equip people with the tools needed for them, their loved ones, and those they serve to overcome the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of the crisis they’re facing. A group of licensed local pastors as well as Lay Leaders and Board of Laity members in our conference went through this training and they all found it to be most helpful both for themselves as well as for those they serve. Having lived through 2020, we have all dealt with some level of trauma. This training will be a great help to many as we move forward in 2021.
