Participants in this class will learn how to assess the physical damage to a disaster-affected residence in order to plan and prepare for Early Response Teams to safely access and secure the property from further damage. Learn how to identify structural problems that impact ERT safety and effectiveness. The class will help identify tools useful for damage assessments and be reminded about sensitivity and discusses the needs with the home owner. The class will use the step method to determine if a residence is appropriate for an Early Response Team or would better served by a specialized team or professional assistance.
A training session will be held at Wilmer UMC in the Fellowship Hall on 9/10/2019 from 6 to 9 PM.
This training is open to all people age 18 who have a current UMCOR ERT badge or will participate in ERT Training soon.
