We will discuss the duties of the committee that goes beyond making the decision about whether to ask one’s pastor to return. We will also discuss ways in which the PPR/SPR can develop with the congregation a behavioral covenant that we might always remember who we are and whose we are.
STEWARDSHIP - Dr. Sam Parkes
Sam will share the spiritual importance of good stewardship and plans and processes for developing stewardship programs in the local church.
THE IMPORTANCE OF LAITY - Mr. Frank Estes
Frank will share the importance of honoring one’s membership covenant with the church and how to serve within the local congregation.
CHURCH FINANCES - Steve Reneau and Olivia Poole
Steve and Olivia will talk about the importance of developing a plan to be good stewards of the church finances.
TALKING TO TABOOS - HOW TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE — Rev. Chris Terrell, U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps
Chris will enable participants to engage in dialogue about the real-life prevalence of suicide in the United States, why people tend to respond inappropriately or in unhelpful ways and best practices for someone struggling with suicide.
TALKING FAITH - Dan Baughman
Dan will share ways that we, as the people of God, can share the Good News in comfortable ways with those we meet.
