Creative Director, Enterprise First United Methodist Church

Enterprise First United Methodist Church is seeking a highly skilled Creative Director/Creative Pastor with a passion for creativity, leadership and ministry. The qualified applicant would provide strategic vision and leadership for the work area on evangelism and the audio-visual teams in worship to produce high-quality worship experiences and to extend the church’s evangelistic reach using the most up-to-date and effective media.

The Creative Director is responsible for:

  1. Collaborating in all phases of weekend services and special event production, including all message development, media, graphic, and technical aspects from concept development through production
  2. Leading the Media Team and creative message development process
  3. Overseeing all communications, including print graphics, website management, and social media, maintaining consistency of branding across all formats
  4. Creating a culture based upon the church’s core values within the Creative Team
  5. Staying current on emerging trends in ministry, marketing, technology and design
  6. Keeping the Creative Team continually engaged in producing excellent results while staying on schedule and within budget
  7. Communicating messages as a member of the worship planning teams, as needed
  8. Coordinating church participation in community events through civic and government organizations
  9. As part of the required 25 hours of services, attend weekly staff meetings, one traditional worship service, one contemporary worship service, and all other special events unless your presence is determined to not be necessary by the pastors or program staff
  10. Attend regular meetings of the evangelism committee to help organize effective outreach and enhance internal and external communications

  • Able to navigate all aspects of AVL production, message development, design, social media, and marketing
  • Self-motivation, a professional demeanor, adaptability to change, and a “whatever-it-takes” attitude
  • Professional experience in marketing and communication (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communication, or business management (preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
First United Methodist Church employs a collaborative team of professional staff and volunteers who run our weekly programs, which bring about 1000 persons through the campus weekly. The church employs over fifteen full-time employees and around forty part-time employees. The creative director will be provided ample office space and a portable computer or notepad for essential work related functions. The director may work from home when necessary, but is required to spend the majority of the work week on the church premises and attending church functions on and offsite.

EVALUATION AND COMPENSATION
The Creative Director is a contract position, awarded for twelve months of service for a total compensation of $25,000.00. The Staff Parish Relations Committee will evaluate the performance of the Creative Director after nine months of service and determine whether to extend the contract, modify the position, or terminate the contract.
