Disaster Response & Recovery Ministry
HAITI ALERT:
RESOURCES:
DISASTER RESPONSE The AWF Conference Disaster Response & Recovery Ministry is committed to providing the loving presence of Christ as we respond to natural disasters within our conference and across the connection. As groundwork, the ministry provides a framework of resources and training for the local church and district, thus strengthening response within their communities. Trained AWF Conference Early Response Teams (ERT) enter a disaster recovery area upon invitation. The ministry programs are developed to build and deploy trained volunteer teams to begin the relief process of cleanup and debris removal, tarping, etc. after first responders have been into the area. A Conference Response Team to facilitate local churches is in the developmental stage and should be in place by mid-summer, 2008. Contact information will be listed on the web site Zone 1 Districts: Demopolis and Montgomery/Prattville Zone 2 Districts: Montgomery/Opelika and Dothan Zone 3 Districts: Marianna/Panama City and Pensacola Zone 4 Districts: Mobile and Baypines Click here to view the zones as a PDF map.
