Dr. Robert Foster Dyer, 78, of Panama City passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his residence. Dr. Dyer was born November 8, 1933 in Hanover, PA to Robert and Bernetta Dyer. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. Dr. Dyer met the love of his life, his wife Allie Mae, while stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. He was a minister at Springhill United Methodist Church, Greenhills United Methodist Church, Kynesville United Methodist Church, and Blackcreek United Methodist Church.
Dr. Dyer was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dr. Dyer enjoyed reading the Bible and taking care of his plants.
Dr. Dyer supplied Springhill, Green Hills/Springhill Charge, Greenhills/Kynesville Charge, and Black Creek in the Marianna/Panama City District.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Dyer, Sr. and son, John Wesley Dyer.
Dr. Dyer is survived by his wife of 54 years, Allie Mae Dyer of Panama City; daughter, Rhonda Shaw and husband Timothy of Mooresville, IN; mother, Berennta Wolf; two brothers: Jim Dyer, Douglas Dyer; sister, Winnie Shaw; and two grandchildren: Kenneth Ryan McCallister and Kellie Rose McCallister.
Funeral services were held June 15, 2012 at Southerland Family Funeral Home. Interment will followed at Parker Cemetery.
