Minority Group Self Determination

The Minority Group Self Determination Fund was established by the United Methodist Church for the empowerment of racial and ethnic minority people within and outside the church. The Fund is administered by the General Commission on Religion and Race on behalf of the church. The Commission is guided by the priniciple of self-determination and administers the fund in accord with its disciplinary mandate to provide channels of assistance to racial and ethnic minority groups as they seek to develop programs of empowerment and ministry to their local churches and communities. Projects, rather than organizations, are funded.
