Blue Lake UM Assembly
A time of inspiration and renewal for AWF clergy and their spouses
Dallas Willard writes in The Pastor’s Guide to Effective Ministry, “The call of God to minister the gospel is a high honor and a noble challenge. It carries with it unique opportunities as well as special burdens and dangers for members of the clergy as well as their families. These burdens can be fruitfully born and the dangers triumphantly overcome. But that will not happen unless the minister’s “inner person” (2 Corinthians 4:16) is constantly renewed by accessing the riches of God and His kingdom in the inner person.”
The purpose of Soul Care: to renew, refresh, and feed your soul.
Soul Care is a special retreat for clergy - elders, deacons, local pastors, and provisional and associate members and their spouses. It begins Monday, August 9 and ends on Tuesday, August 10. Our host is Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly. Dr. Robert (Bob) Mulholland, Professor Emeritus at Asbury Seminary, will be our presenter. There is also time set aside for rest, worship, prayer, and reflection.
COST: $79 per person which includes the program and materials, Monday’s accommodations at Oakwood (double occupancy), dinner, breakfast, and lunch. If someone wants a single room it is an additional $22. If you’re not staying at Blue Lake, the program is $30 plus your meals.
