Job Title: Family Support Worker
The Family Support Worker works closely with families who have children who are at imminent risk of being removed from the home because of abuse, neglect, behavior issues or who are returning home after placement. The Family Support Worker will work with no less than four (4) families and no more than six (6) families at one time. This position requires working odd hours and being on call (24/7) and traveling extensively over a multi-county delivery area. Counties current being served are: Coffee, Covington, Dale and Geneva.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology or Human and Child Development required. No less than one (1) year of related paid experience working with children, families and/or youth required. LBSW preferred. Must be able to travel extensively over a multi-county delivery area, work odd hours and be on-call (24/7) as family emergencies arise. A valid driver’s license from state of residence, reliable transportation and driving record that will allow coverage on UMCH insurance policy required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language required.
