The Director of Finance is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems for the control of UMCH assets and the preparation of complete and accurate information records. This person works closely with the President/CEO to provide management and board of directors with relevant information necessary for budgetary and financial decisions. The Director is responsible for the overall supervision of Business Office staff and for ensuring accurate and appropriate general accounting practices.
Master’s Degree in Business or Accounting from an accredited college or university and five years paid experience in commercial or institutional financial management OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting from an accredited college or university and seven years paid experience in commercial or institutional financial management required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred. Knowledge and experience with general accounting, financial statement preparation, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, and management information systems required. Proficiency using general ledger software and other accounting software programs (i.e., Excel) required. Previous supervisory experience required. Previous experience supervisory business office staff preferred. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, using the English language required.
