The United Methodist Children's Home Headquarters (Montgomery, AL) is seeking an Accountant.
The Accountant for accounts payable assists the Director of Finance with the financial affairs of the Agency, which includes bill payment, preparation of financial analyses of operations, financial statements and internal control audits. Ensures the accurate and appropriate utilization of general accounting practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting from an accredited college or university required. Three (3) years paid experience in commercial or institutional financial management required. Knowledge and experience with general accounting, financial statement preparation, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, and management information systems required. Proficiency using general ledger software and other accounting software programs (i.e., Excel) required. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, using the English language required.
